Laser hair therapy is a relatively new development in the treatment of hair loss for men and women. Lasers have played a huge part in medical procedures for decades, but the cool, low light lasers that are now used in laser hair therapy have only been around for about ten years in Europe. Only in the past few years have they been approved by the FDA to be used in America. Naturally, there is skepticism about any new product, but the studies and facts about laser hair therapy should assure anyone that laser hair therapy is here to stay as a great, non-invasive option in hair restoration and treating hair loss.

First, to understand why laser hair therapy works, it’s important to understand the reasons behind hair loss in the first place. Age, genetics and hormones play significant roles in both male and female pattern hair loss. An overabundance of a hormone called DHT (dihydrotestosterone) that is triggered both by age and genetics can begin to weaken hair on a follicular level, targeting the roots. When DHT enters the picture, the root becomes malnourished, starved of essential nutrients that keep hair growing and regrowing. All of us shed hair. There is a natural cycle to hair shedding and regrowth. But when DHT becomes a problem, the hair that sheds regrows weaklier. Hair becomes thinner and less vigorous. Eventually, the hair follicle will quit altogether and the root will finally die. That hair, once gone, is gone for good. Gather up a receding hairline full of such follicles and suddenly, you’re going bald.

Topical solutions such as Rogaine can put the DHT back in balance by inhibiting it. Such products stop hair loss, but do little to reinvigorate the hair that’s left. And if you ever stop using Rogaine your hair will simply fall out. So what’s the answer?

FDA -approved laser hair therapy does what topical solutions cannot. Low-level laser light is applied to the scalp for thirty-minute sessions, during which the patient feels nothing. This is because the changes are going on at a molecular level. Light from the laser hair therapy penetrates the tissue down to the roots and, bathing the root hair in stimulating light. This encourages a better blood flow around the hair root, which, in turn, nourishes the follicle root. Your hair is like a plant that has been stuck in the basement without sunlight, which results in stunted growth. The plant will wither and eventually die. But when exposed to sunlight again, it begins to grow and thrive. This is what the renewed blood supply does for the hair follicle. Laser hair therapy brings nourishment and oxygen back to the follicle and it begins to grow in a normal, healthy way again.

Laser hair therapy works equally well with both men and women. Because it’s a non-invasive therapy and painless, treatments are done in quick, easy visits to hair replacement clinics that offer laser hair therapy. Hand-held laser brushes, recently approved by the FDA, are portable laser units that can be purchased for home use. These laser brushes are not as powerful as the low-light lasers used in the hair clinics, but have the advantage of easy use whenever and wherever a clients prefers and have shown proven results in up to 90% satisfaction rate.

One of the great advantages of laser hair therapy is the fact that it’s all-natural. There are no hair systems, no glues, no adhesives and no surgery involved. For those not willing or ready to take that next leap into surgical hair restoration or commit to wearing a hair system, laser hair therapy may be the answer to premature hair loss.

Forty-year old Lydia Tomeleson began finding an alarming amount of hair every day in her shower drain. She was devastated when she noticed her thinning hair. Her mother had lost much of her hair around the crown of her head and Lydia dreaded the same fate. When she began seeing the white of her scalp through her hair, she visited her doctor and found that she was pre-menopausal. Hormones had conspired to thin out her hair. Her doctor explained that hormones (DHT in particular) had begun to weaken her hair follicles, which was why they were excessively shedding and not regrowing with the normal cycle. He recommended stimulating the blood supply of her scalp by using laser hair therapy. She went to a hair loss treatment clinic that offered laser hair therapy and underwent treatment. It took three months to see a real difference with laser hair therapy, but in 8 months, her hair had begun to grow back, even healthier than it had been for years. Lydia stopped checking her self-esteem at her door and began to feel like herself again, regaining the confidence she had lost.

If your hair is thinning and you want a more natural approach to hair replacement, talk to a hair loss treatment specialist about laser hair therapy. It can restore both your hair and your self-esteem.

We’ve all heard about the marvels of lasers, from the technological breakthroughs in laser surgery to whitening teeth. But did you know that there have been breakthroughs using lasers as a hair loss treatment using low-light lasers? In fact, the technology behind lasers as a hair loss treatment, also called “laser hair regrowth therapy” has been around for more than twenty years, and has been used extensively in Europe successfully treating hair loss. Only in the past decade have low-light lasers come into widespread use in laser hair regrowth therapy here in the Unites States. Hand-held laser devices have recently been approved by the FDA as a hair loss treatment, giving it a new credibility it has long enjoyed in Europe.

While studies show that some 90% of clients who use laser hair regrowth therapy as a hair loss treatment method see a marked change in the quality of their hair, its thickness and its shedding, there’s more to the story than that. A reputable laser hair loss clinic will tell you what many other clinics won’t tell you: that hair loss is a complex issue and your results will vary depending on the care you get. If you choose a hair loss treatment like laser hair regrowth therapy, you will want to visit a reputable practitioner for best results that will address your individual hair loss situation.

So what are the top five things you should know when looking into laser hair regrowth therapy?

• When choosing a hair loss treatment, seek out a multi-therapeutic approach – While steady and effective laser hair regrowth therapy will make a difference in your hair, your best results will be seen using a multi-therapeutic approach. What does that mean? It means taking advantage of all the technology out there. What we know is that the major cause of male and female pattern baldness is the excess of something called DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) in the scalp. DHT effectively cuts off the nutrition of a hair follicle (oxygen, blood supply, nutrients.) With laser hair regrowth therapy the low-light laser penetrates this level of the skin, counteracting the DHT and allowing a richer blood flow to reach the hair follicle. But used in conjunction with a hair loss treatment such as DHT inhibitors like Rogaine, Propecia and/or Minoxidil with 5% saw palmetto can greatly improve the quality of the hair loss treatment. Products like these help to stop shedding in its tracks, giving the laser hair regrowth therapy a chance to work. Also, shampoos that inhibit DHT with products like saw palmetto and other DHT-blocking herbs promote a healthy scalp can improve circulation and overall effectiveness of laser hair regrowth therapy.

• Length of Treatment – Contrary to popular myth, use of laser hair regrowth therapy is not a one-stop shopping experience. It’s a long-term hair loss treatment; a real commitment and results will not begin to be seen until a client has been using the clinic’s low light laser for at least three months. That’s partly due to the hair’s life cycle. As new hair begins to emerge, it comes in thicker and stronger. But most successful clients make a commitment of between 1-2 years of office visits and then maintain their new, healthier hair with a hand-held home laser, an important and inexpensive part of the hair loss treatment.

• With laser hair regrowth therapy, the more diodes the better – Diodes are the little points of light emitted by a low-light laser. In a typical clinic low-light laser, there are diodes placed strategically in the curved surface of the machine that can treat the entire scalp at once. But make sure you look for the number of diodes your machine has. The more diodes, the better (more effectively) the laser will work. This is why, for laser hair regrowth therapy, hand-held lasers (which use fewer diodes) are preferred for maintenance, not the initial hair loss treatment.

• Consult an expert in laser hair regrowth therapy – There are many less-than-legit hair loss treatment clinics opening up, claiming to know the business. Anyone can purchase a low light laser and call himself an expert. But an expert clinic will employ both doctors specializing in hair loss treatment, and knowledgeable hair loss consultants on their teams. When you decide to look into laser hair regrowth therapy, be sure to check the pedigree of the clinic you’re visiting. The laser hair loss experts you are seeking have been in business for a long time and have great reputations that are easily researched online. Experts at these hair loss treatment clinics can tell you exactly what you need and what will and won’t work for your particular hair loss condition. Don’t settle for less than the best.

Hair Loss: How to Combat It?

Hair loss is an ailment that can affect almost all men and women. The cause of hair loss is the change of balance of androgens and estrogens, which are the male and female hormones. The falling of hair typically starts within the age of 12 and 40 years.

There are numerous causes of hair loss. However, the main causes are either genetic or hormonal changes. In fact these causes are behind 95% of hair loss cases. Other causes of hair loss include stress and usage of some drugs. No doubt, reducing one’s stress is important in slowing hair fall. There is a close relationship between DHT and the male baldness pattern. This dihydrotestosterone gives a bad effect on the hair follicles and slows down hair growth.

There are some drugs, which causes hair loss on the scalp as well as other places of the body. If doubted that the cause of one’s hair loss is due to certain medication, they must immediately consult the doctor and look for an alternative suggestion. There are reports of hair loss in both male and female when treated with certain medication for cancer.

One must begin hair loss treatment as soon as it is detected so that the effective treatment can slow down the hair loss. In women, the common cause of hair loss is known as androgenetic alopecia, which is also called as female pattern alopecia or baldness. The treatment of hair loss includes reduction of enzymatic activity that occurs on the scalp.

In male, the most common form of hair loss is the male Pattern hair loss. It represents 95% of all hair loss cases in men. One must look for hair treatment that is suited to him or her for the specific needs and help in hair growth. In women, hair loss also occurs due to hormonal changes during pregnancy or menopause.

There are many reasons for hair loss. Hair loss could be due to stress, medication, hormonal imbalance etc. DHT and male pattern baldness are closely related to each other. The dihydrotestosterone has a very bad effect on the hair follicles as it slows down the growth of hair or stops hair growth completely.

As mentioned in the beginning, stress along with mental tension result in hair loss. In the case of males, hair loss is more a genetic problem and is found in the heredity. The testosterone and DHT also causes hair fall and can result in complete baldness. One can grow hair on their bald scalp through medication or surgery. It must be remembered that baldness is a condition and not a disease. Baldness do not occur in a short time but takes time. First Hair thinning occurs and the hair falls off. Slowly the growth of hair stops and one gets bald.
To stop hair loss, one must go for hair loss treatment. One can reverse the course of hair loss if treatment starts early. Through hair loss treatment, one can aid the growth of new hair follicle. One must also keep the internal body functions in correct state. If some illness is found, it must be treated immediately.

Generic Propecia is like a blessing to the bald men. They can get back the dense hairs with the intake of the generic Propecia pills. Male pattern baldness has been observed worldwide. More than 30% of the men in US alone suffer with the problem of the male pattern baldness. Hormonal imbalance is the main cause of the hair loss in the men. The increase in the amount of the dihydrotestosterone and decrease in the testosterone levels leads to the hair loss in men. Too much oiling or washing of hairs roughly can also cause the hair loss. Sometimes hair loss is also hereditary. Hair loss is getting a problem of concern as bald men feels less confident about themselves due to it. Hair loss affects the entire personality of an individual that affects his social, personal, and professional life.

Hair loss can be treated easily with the intake of the generic Propecia daily for about 4 months. You only have to little patient as the effect may take little longer, but we assure you that hair regrowth is confirmed. Dihydrotestosterone causes the hair loss by sticking to the hair follicles. This leads to cut down the supply of the nutrients to the hairs. As a result the hair starts thinning which later on leads to the hair fall. Dihydrotestosterone also makes the hold of hairs from the roots to loosen up which promotes the hair loss. This dihydrotestosterone is produced from the testosterone and is required in the body to perform various functions. It is produced from the testosterone with the help of the enzyme type 2 reductase. When this enzyme is found to be more amount it converts more testosterone into dihydrotestosterone that later on leads to the hair loss.

Generic Propecia works by stopping the conversion of the testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. It does this by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme type 2 reductase. Due to this the hair loss is stopped. In the next step it improves the nutrients supply to the scalp region. As a result of this hair regrowth is boosted and hairs start appearing on the bald areas. This process is not so easy; it takes a time of about 4 months to grow on the bald areas. If you want the dense hair growth then you need to wait for a year to see the thick dense hairs.

The generic Propecia dose is 1 mg in a day. It is advisable to maintain the same dosage for about 3 months. If you don’t get any effect consult the doctor but, don’t increase the dosage on your own. Generic Propecia should be taken for time recommended by the doctor, don’t take it for the more time because it may lead to the serious effects on your sexual health. It has been noted that sperm count of the person who take Propecia in excess or for more time is being reduced. Even the functioning of the male reproductive organ is adversely affected. So, take generic Propecia but only after consulting with the doctor.

Before hair transplant surgery came along, how did men deal with their hair loss? For centuries, men have been losing their hair to genetics, age and inevitability. For centuries, men have tried to disguise their hair loss with powdered wigs, toupees and, more recently, removable hair systems that adhere to the scalp with special adhesive. Why all the worry about hair loss? Because feeling good is looking good and a healthy head of hair is intertwined, psychologically, to our feeling of well-being.

Why do thousands of men each year choose hair transplant surgery as a way to solve their hair loss? Because we feel better when the person we see in the mirror is the person we still expect to see. When our hair goes, so does a chunk of our self-worth. And while modern technology has made amazing breakthroughs in disguising the problem of hair loss, these solutions are not ever going to be like the real thing; the one important thing you get when you choose hair transplant surgery: your own hair growing back on your head.

To understand hair transplant surgery, you have to understand the answer to the question: Why does hair fall out? In the case of men, genes predetermine which areas will thin and bald eventually. Hormones– particularly DHT (dihydrotestosterone) that can shrink the hair follicles and weaken them until they fall out for good – are a significant cause of hair loss. More accurately, once weakened this way, hair fails to regrow to replace the one that has fallen out in the natural shedding process. Thus if more fall out than regrow, baldness will ensue.

We’ve all seen the results of the early and awful attempts at hair transplant surgery with “hair plugs”, which resulted in a scalp that looked more like the surface of a brush, not at all natural looking. Unscrupulous hair loss clinics even performed dangerous hair transplant surgeries by sewing a hairpiece directly onto men’s scalps. Never a good idea. Both of these procedures are now a thing of the past. For good reason men became suspicious of hair transplant surgery at that time.

However, in the past ten to fifteen years, amazing technological breakthroughs have improved the way hair replacement surgery is performed. One type of hair transplant surgery is called Follicular hair transplant surgery, which utilizes micro-surgical techniques and the hair loss patient’s own hair, harvested from an area at the back of his head. One to two strands of hair at a time are individually implanted into the area of the scalp that requires hair. By the end of the hair transplant surgery, thousands of such individual strands with roots intact are implanted into the scalp of the hair loss patient. Great care is taken to angle the hair properly, to give a natural frontal hairline to the patient and to give what will become good coverage of the scalp.

The hair harvested from this back area of the scalp for follicular hair transplant surgery is not prone to the same genetic problems as the hair in the frontal areas. These harvested hairs are predetermined to keep growing, just as they would at the back of a man’s head throughout his life. Once hair transplant surgery is complete, the hair that is visible will shed or fall off. But the root that is still in the scalp will be settling in to grow. Within six months, a new head of hair will grow where no hair was before. Hair transplant surgery is a viable solution to hair loss.

While men’s hair transplant surgery is more common, women, too, suffer from hair loss and can benefit from hair transplant surgery. Women tend to lose their hair in an all-over pattern instead of the typical pattern baldness men experience. Often, hair becomes extremely thin, because hair stops growing back once it falls out. Dihydrotestosterone can affect women in this same way as men, but other factors, such as chemical over-treatment, and tension Alopecia due to over-styling are more common in women who suffer from hair loss.

Gina Reyes underwent treatment for breast cancer with radiation and chemotherapy. Her hair fell out, as expected, but unlike others who regrew their hair, Gina’s hair never came back as thick as it had been before. Her recovery was difficult, made worse by how she felt when she looked in the mirror. She tried everything to cover her hair loss condition, but finally settled on hair transplant surgery. Her recovery was relatively easy and within a month the hair transplanted into her scalp shed. But then, the roots began to grow and Gina’s hair began to look like it used to look. Within a year, she had a new head of hair and her chemo treatments no longer stared at her in the mirror whenever she looked at it. No more will she have to worry about hair systems that adhere to her scalp, or needing to shave what hair she has left to apply it. No more wigs that don’t breathe in the heat. The hair from her hair transplant surgery is real, growing hair.

If you’re suffering from hair loss and you’ve tried the other hair loss solutions only to feel like you’re wearing someone else’s hair, consider going to a hair transplant surgery clinic to see if you are a candidate for hair transplant surgery. The cost is relatively high, but financing is usually available. And when you add up the other hair loss solutions over a lifetime, then add in how you’ll feel about yourself when it’s done, you may just find it’s worth the price of being you again.

White Cliffs Hair Studio provides individualized hair loss treatment plans including nonsurgical hair replacement and hair transplant surgery, as well as laser hair therapy and Cancer wigs.
