There is a lot of controversy about how diet affects hair loss and other skin conditions. But since hair takes nutrients from blood flow, which it needs for growth, you should just use common sense to believe that you will need hair loss vitamins, if you want to have healthy hair.

One of the problems in providing hair loss vitamins is if those vitamins are needed else where in your body, your hair will see very little of these vitamins. The hair is one of the last places that vitamins go to. The other problem is if you are not providing enough vitamins and even minerals for your body, from the food you eat, your body will start to pull the vitamins it needs from your hair. But the hair is not the only place vitamins are pulled from, since the body will automatically pull vitamins and minerals from other parts of the body to move them to areas that need them for survival.

So one of the first plans of action to get the hair loss vitamins you need is to eat well balanced meals and eliminate as much junk food as you can. The two big killers of hair loss are sugar and salt, so start looking for ways to eliminate these two additives.

Here is a list of vitamins to supplement with to prevent hair loss:

Vitamin A (Retinol) – you can take between 10,000 – 25,000 IU’s The larger you are take the higher dose.

The B vitamins are essential hair loss vitamins. It is best to use a complete B vitamin supplement such as the B100’s. If you make morning smoothies you can buy the liquid B vitamins. You absorb more of these B’s in this form. Remember, you need B vitamins everyday. Your body will only use the B’s it needs and excrete the excess. This is why your urine will be a deep yellow since the excess B’s are being eliminated.

Vitamin B1 (Thiamin)
Vitamin B12 (Cobalt)
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)
Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic Acid)
Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)
Vitamin B9 (Folic Acid)

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) – a good amount of this vitamin is around 3000- to 4000 mg. You can always tell when you are taking to much vitamin C your stools get softer or watery. If you have a hard time with natural vitamin C and it gives you an upset stomach, use the buffered type or Ester C. This will cost you quite a bit more.

Vitamin E – Use 400 – 800 IU but do not exceed the 800mg. For a larger body use the higher dose. Use the Alpha tocopherol since it is the most active form of this vitamin. You will see this form listed as alpha-tocopheryl acetate. For those of you that have problems digesting fats use the water soluble vitamin E.

Vitamin H (Biotin) – This vitamin is a B vitamin but is a very important hair loss vitamin. Lack of this vitamin shows up as thinning hair and loss of hair. So it should be on the top of your list to supplement with it. However it should be used and taken with the other B vitamins so to get the best absorption. Use around 300 mcg and if the B100 do not have enough biotin, you may have to supplement with biotin separately.

There you have it. This is the basic hair loss vitamins that you need to take. There are other nutrients that you need, but they will be covered in my other articles.

Sooner or later you will have to deal with hair loss. When you do you will want to know what hair loss vitamins you will need to slow down the loss. In this article, you will get the basic vitamins that you need to supplement with to slow down hair loss. You may want to make sure you’re taking these vitamins before you start to see hair loss and help prevent its early loss.

Lets face it vanity is a big part of the human condition, did I say big part? What I really mean is for most people vanity is a huge part of their everyday existence. Everyday before you leave your house, you spend what a half hour, an hour maybe more just getting ready to go out. Makeup, clothing, jewellery, and of course your hair. We have all seen the covers of those romance novels, you know the ones I’m talking about. The guy standing on the edge of a cliff or the deck of a ship, his shirt open and those long lustrous locks of hair blowing in the wind. Or perhaps it’s the lady with the wind swept hair on the balcony. But when you look in the mirror like approximately 80 million other people, you seen thinning patches or balding. Today your going to learn about 5 of the biggest hair loss myths going around, and we are going to talk a little about the true common causes of hair loss in women and men.

The Big 5 Hair Loss Myths-

Lets start off with one of the most common myths, I’m sure almost everybody has heard this one at one time or another growing up.

Myth #1 – My Father Has A Full Head Of Hair So I Will Too

As it turns out this myth is false, hair loss or growth is a genetic trait passed along to you by both sides of your family tree. If your family is filled with balding scalps, then perhaps in time yours will be as well, but that’s not a certainty.

Myth #2 – Wearing A Tight Hat Will Make You Bald

Again as it turns out this is simply an old wives’ tale, there is no evidence that wearing a hat or baseball cap will cause you to either lose hair or losep it faster. I remember this one from my youth; to this day a relative of mine is convinced this was the start of his hair loss.

Myth #3 – Wearing Tight Braids, Pony Tails or Buns Will Cause Baldness

Sorry ladies, and the gents who have a taste for this type of fashion but this one is true. This type of hair style will causes stress and tension on your hair over an extended period of time, the result of wearing tight buns, cornrows, dreadlocks and ponytails can result in permanent damage to your hair and loss or thinning. This is one of the causes of hair loss in women.

Myth #4 – Sunburnt Scalps Can Lead To Baldness

This one is true folks, just another reason to wear a strong sun block if you’re going to be out in the sun for extended periods of time. The exposure to the sun’s rays causing a sever burn or even multiple burns over time can damage the delicate hair follicles at the root level. People with a genetic history towards hair loss may accelerate that loss, with repeated sunburns. To help avoid this, apply sunscreen directly to your scalp mixed into your hair.

Myth #5 – Sexual Activity To Stimulate Growth

Ok well I really wish this one were true I’m sad to report that there is no scientific proof either way that sexual activity will affect your level of hair coverage. But hey I’m not telling you to stop experimenting.

Causes Of Hair Loss In Women and Men-

That root cause is DHT (Dihydrotestosterone), DHT tends to prevent proteins, vitamins and minerals from providing the proper nourishment needed by hair follicles, the follicles deprived of nourishment then tend to grow at a slower rate, this in turn shortens the growing phase of the follicle.

DHT is also responsible for shrinking of the hair follicles; the hair follicle gets shorter and finer and ultimately falls out. Additionally DHT also produces a waxy substance that accumulates around the hair roots; it is this accumulation of waxy substance that gives rise to female and male pattern baldness, the cause of 95% of all hair loss.
